What is it about?

This study was presented at a joint conference in the U.S.A where it won one of the best poster award. This study shows some of the potent potential drug molecules that were extracted from a plant Ficus exasperata and identified with use of the sensitive technology of nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry. These drug molecules are lead compounds for further drug discovery analysis.

Why is it important?

This publication puts the plant Ficus exasperata as a natural source of drugs for the treatment of uterine pathologies such as preterm labour. This publication also highlights the sensitivity of NMR and Mass spectrometry to promote the rapid and thorough isolation and identification of drug molecules which can be easily employed for scale-up processes.
