What is it about?
it is an open loop synchronization techniques that enables the synchronization of the shunt active power filter under unbalanced and distorted voltage.

Why is it important?
based on the eigenvalue solution, this technique gives precise information of the voltage frequency and phase in only one cycle, under distorted and unbalanced grid conditions, and frequency deviation. other techniques such as DFT, can not estimate the frequency, while the PLL is a closed loop technique that takes at least two cycles to estimate the phase and frequency of the system under adverse grid conditions.
