Why is it important?
In the conventional equivalent circuit, the speed or slip of motor is assumed constant. However, under voltage fluctuation conditions, the rotor speed pulsates at modulation frequency. Consequently, there are two different frequencies in the circuit: fundamental frequency and modulation frequency. To obtain the equivalent circuit whose quantities change with different frequencies, we cannot use the classical phasor definitions.
