What is it about?
Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS) allow control of electromagnetic (EM) wave propagation. While many papers have been published on studies using traditional construction techniques, normally copper conductive patterns on a dielectric surface, this paper looks at how well FSS structures perform when they are made using conductive yarn or ink on textile bases. This publication shows that it is possible to get very good performance from textile FSS when weaving and screen printing are used.

Why is it important?
Using textile versions of an FSS allows EM wave screens to be used as curtains and room divides
