Why is it important?
A review of the evolving and future technologies in wavelength division multiplexing passive optical networks has been given. The wavelength reuse scheme has been studied to decrease the cost of WDM-PON topologies, where colourless ONUs based on wavelength-seeded RSOAs and injection-locked FP-LD can be used.
