What is it about?
The proposed dual CP omnidirectional antenna consists of an in-phase current loop, a printed dipole, and a feeding network. In this structure, ZPS loop antenna uses horizontally loaded parallel plate lines to achieve omnidirectional radiation mode. The CP radiation mode is achieved by the in-phase current loop and printed dipole, which create two orthogonal waves. The antenna has a simple structure and exhibits excellent properties, such as low ARs, dual polarized, CP omnidirectional mode. LHCP or RHCP radiation can be easily achieved by exciting different port.

Why is it important?
Compared with linearly polarized (LP) antenna, CP antenna ensures a good match between the receiver and transmitter and eliminates the multi-path reflections caused by many objects, such as the ground plane and other objects around. Omnidirectional radiation antenna can cover all the directions, thus greatly simplifying the configuration of the system. With the development of wireless systems, various CP omnidirectional antennas are proposed.
