What is it about?
The simultaneous infeed of multiple renewable energy sources into the distribution grid causes critical grid situations. The paper presents an approach to determine which generation unit has to be curtailed by which amount to ensure a secure grid operation while integrating the maximum possible amount of renewable energy generation into the system.

Why is it important?
In the long term grid capacities can not be economically feasible dimensioned to situations with maximum renewable infeed. Therefore innovative control strategies have to be implemented into grid operation. The paper shows that there are optimisation potentials compared to recently applied standards.
