What is it about?

Dialogic reading can help improve children's reading comprehension and language abilities. In this paper, we explore how the Parent EMBRACE application can help Latino parents ask their children more questions while reading bilingual stories with an intelligent tutoring system.

Why is it important?

Results indicate that after the intervention, four out of seven parents in the parent-teaching interactive storybook group asked more questions to their children. Thus, using new technology can empower bilingual parents to engage in language intervention with their children at home.
