What is it about?

In this paper, we explore the many opportunities to adopt change and novel technologies that will improve the field of audiology. We discuss identify aspects within academic teaching, clinical practice, and research that could continue to move our field forward into an era of growth and positive impact on patient outcomes.

This work highlights several specific opportunities that hearing care professionals and researchers can investigate and implement today to update their current practices. We strongly believe that adopting change and new technologies in the academic, clinical, and investigative research sectors of audiology will bring us back to the forefront of innovation and positively impact patient outcomes.

Perspectives

I hope readers view this article as a positive call to action to consider trying something new in the way they teach, practice, or research audiology. We have so many opportunities to grow, we should not allow our fear of something new hinder our exploration into novel methodologies and ideas.
