What is it about?
It is important to support faculty of color (FoC) in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). FoC face unique obstacles that can be understood through an awareness of cultural competency, imposter syndrome, and microaggressive behaviors. Honest discussions driven by empathy should continue to occur as we seek to enhance the quality of CSD programs by supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Why is it important?
Recent events have prompted discussions regarding social justice and change throughout the United States. In an effort to highlight barriers to faculty of color (FoC) in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and to begin offering solution-driven ideas, we have identified key areas that affect FoC based on a combination of data and experience.
