What is it about?

Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) describe their daily clinical experiences working with minimally speaking autistic children with significant language challenges who require augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The article highlights SLP perceptions of intervention efficacy and the challenges SLPs face when trying to teach these children how to communicate using AAC. Critical areas for future research are identified.
