What is it about?
This paper reports a novel magneto-photonic colloidal based biosensor which is embedded in chitosan-gelatin hydrogel. This sensor is capable of detecting interleukin-6 quantitatively and this nanophotonic based mechanism has been devised with an intent to monitor interleukin-6 real-time in septic patients with higher degree burns where hydrogel can be used as burn coverage.
