What is it about?
Alcohols to CAs: spontaneous oxidation process under our air atmosphere. deltaG < 0. CAs to alcohols: reduction process that needs catalyst and H2.

Why is it important?
hydrogenation of CAs is an ideal method for the bulk production of alcohols, given that water is the only byproduct of this reaction. CAs can be produced artificially, e.g. from CO2. Light energy can convert CO2 to CAs. By taking it account for SDGs, carboxylic acids are very important renewable carbon resources!
