What is it about?
DNA a very delicate molecule and a potential building block material is reported to be soluble in few solvents including water and buffer. But their long term stability is very important upon storage. In this paper we have designed new kinds of plant growth hormone based bio-ionic liquids capable of dissolving DNA upto 3.5% with structural and chemical stability upto six month upon storage under ambient conditions.

Why is it important?
New types of ionic liquids based on bioactive molecules were prepared and substantial amount of DNA was solubilized with long term chemical and structural stability.
