The carbonate/bicarbonate system as a pH indicator for infrared spectroscopy

What is it about?

The infrared absorption of carbonate can be used to measure the initial and the final pH values in pH jump experiments. This is beneficial to control time-resolved aggregation experiments with the Aβ peptide.
