What is it about?
This paper provides an alternative for x-ray absorption spectroscopy for the light elements: x-ray Raman spectroscopy (XRS). For the case of the light-weight hydrogen storage material, LiBH4, we show data of the bulk LiBH4 as function of temperature and test the applicability of the XRS technique to study the differences of the lithium and boron edges with hydrogen desorption. Unfortunately, mostly boron oxide was formed during this study case.
