What is it about?
This complex is sensitive to solar light, leaving new complexes with catalytic properties in processes such as H2 storage and H2 releasing. Nevertheless, the most important feature of the reaction was to show that it is possible to activate a complex in water with solar light.

Why is it important?
It is a water-soluble complex that can be activated with solar light, the activation leads to the substitution of a chloride by a water molecule and that can be easily substituted by molecules in the dissolution such as natural small molecules that can be transformed in useful new compounds.
