What is it about?
This chapter describes novel techniques used for separating algal cells from the liquid phase inside a photobioreactor. Special attention is given to immobilizing microalgae within thin-layer biofilms, engineering biofilm structures for more efficient light utilization, and converting light energy to the desired end-products.
