What is it about?
This study examined whether psychotherapy is effective in reducing earthquake-related PTSD symptoms. We found that psychotherapy is effective in reducing earthquake-related PTSD symptoms. Cognitive Behavior Therapies and Narrative Exposure Therapy are particularly effective in working with earthquake-related PTSD.

Why is it important?
Though several evidence-based therapies exist for PTSD (e.g., EMDR, prolonged exposure therapy), it was unclear if any psychotherapy models can be effective for helping individuals experiencing earthquake-related PTSD.
