What is it about?
This research study examines the relationship between military sexual trauma and mental health symptoms including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and insomnia severity among male veterans. This study also examines the impact restrictive emotionality has on this relationship.

Why is it important?
Research regarding male MST is a relatively recent development even though sexual trauma experienced by men has been documented throughout history. Much of the previous MST research has been conducted on predominantly female samples, and although research addressing female veterans is critical, attention to male veterans is also needed to help inform prevention and intervention methods.
