Why is it important?

Second-hand buying is often considered as a common practice among poorest social classes that is motivated by financial reasons. We show that second-buyers may be driven by hedonic, ludic and critical considerations that lead them to patronize alternative retail channels and to acquire vintage or original products.

Perspectives

This article has brought to the fore a growing practice on which little was written in spite of its interest for understanding new consumption phenomenon such as the collaborative economy.
