What is it about?
Aerobic fitness has been associated with greater cognitive functioning. We have shown that individuals with different levels of aerobic fitness may adopt different processing strategies during cognitive control. We used temporal brain dynamics to confirm this finding.

Why is it important?
Our findings revealed that top-down rather than bottom-up attentional control may account for the individual difference associated with fitness level during cognitive control processing. Thus, maintaining a high level of aerobic fitness may be associated with most efficient brains.
