What is it about?
This study is the first to compare participants with a diagnosis of Nonverbal learning disability with individuals with Autism spectrum disorder without intellectual disability on visuospatial tasks in which a global or local analysis of the stimuli was manipulated.

Why is it important?
Our results revealed that participants with Nonverbal learning disability performed less well than individuals with Autism spectrum disorder in all the visuospatial tasks, irrespective of the global or local configurations of the stimuli. Visuospatial processing skills could, therefore, facilitate the distinction between these two profiles.
