What is it about?
The Youth Needs and Progress Scale (YNPS) tracks dynamic intervention targets for general non-delinquent behavior, sexual behavior, and socioecological needs to mitigate risk for juveniles with sex offenses. The YNPS was able to capture significant prosocial change for lower- and higher-risk youth.

Why is it important?
Tracking intervention needs in these key areas for youth with sex offenses can satisfy both the needs of the community (enhance public safety) while also reforming the youth in custody. What we fail to do with the youth in our custody today, we may have to contend with when those youth reappear as adults who are unable to positively contribute to society.
