What is it about?
In this study, we investigated whether interleaving -- a method of switching between topics while studying or practicing -- helps students learn Spanish grammar. The results showed that when one "interleaves" between topics across multiple days, interleaving substantially improves learning.

Why is it important?
This is the first demonstration that interleaving can benefit foreign language learning. Most language learners and instructors do the opposite of interleaving: one topic is learned at a time. This research suggests that in some cases, taking this different approach is better.
