What is it about?
In December 2019, a novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak occurred. The World Health Organization named this disease as coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19). COVID-19 may have more profound effects on people's dreams, and the “coronavirus pandemic dream” phenomenon can be more clearly reflected by examining individuals’ dreams during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study investigated the “coronavirus pandemic dream” phenomenon in Chinese including residing in Wuhan city based on the continuity hypothesis, which states that dream contents reflect waking life.

It provides significant insights as it explored the dream contents during the pandemic that may be essential for understanding people's mental health and situation. Its findings can also help to compare the psychological state and situation of citizens from diverse national backgrounds and policies. Further, analyzing the dream content could help identify specific populations that appear to be most at risk for health problems.
