What is it about?
Advice plays an important role in how people make decisions in virtually all walks of life. Diners, for example, consult their friends before visiting a new restaurant and managers seek expert advice before making business decisions. What do we know about when people seek advice and from whom? How does advice influence people’s decisions, and is using advice beneficial? Researchers from many disciplines study these questions. In our review, we provide a summary of the scientific discoveries in psychology and management over the past 16 years.
