This special issue on the neuroscience of consulting summarizes the latest research important for coaches, consultants and human resource practitioners. This introduction briefly summarizes some of the myths and hype about "neuro" that can easily confuse practitioners. It is increasingly popular today, in order to garner greater attention and interest, to package traditional interventions and consulting solutions under a “neuromarketing banner” without empirically based research to back up such claims or to merely repackage older theories and methods into “cutting edge” brain-based approaches
