What is it about?

Firefighters who use tobacco also have higher levels of alcohol use over time. Additionally, depressive symptoms moderated this association such that those who used tobacco and reported high depression symptom scores reported greater drinking, while those who used tobacco and had low depression symptom scores did not. Neither trauma exposure nor PTSD symptoms moderated the alcohol-tobacco relationship.
