What is it about?

This study challenges the idea that smarter people are simply faster. Using a simple visual task that measures how quickly people can take in information, the research shows that those who can stay focused and avoid distractions tend to perform better. The findings suggest that attention control—and the ability to sustain focus over time—helps explain both faster information uptake and higher intelligence.
