What is it about?
The present study results clarify how commonly men and women RCMP are sexually victimized during the Cadet Training Program and while on duty. RCMP reported relatively little sexual victimization during training and relatively more while on duty, with colleagues and civilians as perpetrators. Women RCMP are being disproportionately sexually victimized and are primarily victimized by colleagues, whereas men RCMP are primarily victimized by civilians.

Why is it important?
The results support the need for ongoing and additional strategies focused on reducing the sexual victimization of RCMP; in addition, the current results provide information that can help improve existing strategies and develop novel strategies for reducing the sexual victimization of RCMP and other police.
