What is it about?
Psychological treatment is increasingly provided in medical teams and helps patients. However, working within teams can present ethical challenges for psychologists. Ethical issues include making sure the patient understands and agrees to treatment, maintaining confidentiality, and having the appropriate skills to work in such settings. The fast-paced environment and technology can pose problems for psychologists trying to maintain their ethical standards. Additional training for psychologists and scripts to help patients understand their role can help psychologists avoid ethical problems.
