What is it about?
Self-Determination Theory, one of the leading theories of human motivation, can help to explain whether people have natural, intrinsic tendencies to develop wisdom. This paper provides the first Self-Determination Theory account of wisdom development along its two main pillars: morality and metacognition. Moreover, it specifies the conditions under which wisdom develops.
