What is it about?
The metabolic syndrome is a major public health threat. Chronic stress is thought to play an important role in the development of the metabolic syndrome. Potential consequences of chronic stress are burnout and vital exhaustion. This study, that summarized available studies until 2024, showed that there is a potential relationship between burnout and vital exhaustion symptoms, and having or developing (components of) the metabolic syndrome.
