What is it about?

Our research indicates that even 3-year-old children can trade items in a way that benefits everyone involved, provided they receive enough guidance. By the age of 5, children are able to do this with minimal help. Pre-requisite skills for integrative negotiation emerge early in life.

The ability to trade resources with others to reach a win-win situation, as examined in our study, is a foundational skill that leads to more advanced forms of exchange, like integrative negotiation.
