What is it about?
Stress generation is a phenomena that describes how individuals can contribute to experiences of stress. Stress generation has more commonly been observed in women and not men. This paper aims to highlight methodological issues that may lead to the recurring myth that stress generation is of greater relevance to women than men.

Why is it important?
Our review of literature shows that their are methodological biases in how stress generation is studied. Thus, we need to ensure moving forward that greater forethought is given to the methodological designs of stress generation studies.
