What is it about?
Numerical morphodynamic models do not include geophysical processes, such as bank collapses. Here an approach for collapses is coupled to a numerical model (Delft3D) and tested what the effect is of the extra sediment in the system on the long-term morphodynamics.

Why is it important?
Collapses disturb the estuary morphodynamics, it is important to know in what sort of way as this helps to manage the estuary. Sediment volumes that are eroded by these collapses can be up to several million cubic meters.
