What is it about?
A technique to separate the main westward propagating modes of sea level variability is applied, and the patterns that emerge the long-term, from years to decades, of the large-scale sea level in the South Atlantic. Statistical links are made to the main atmospheric patterns in the Pacific ocean.

Why is it important?
Since the ocean adjustment is slow compared to the atmosphere, in the order of months to years, disentangle the main propagating modes and its causes can provide predictability of sea level and current in the western boundary of the basin.
