What is it about?
We have used a systematic research on the effect of substituent (we have tuned the basicity of anions) in benzoates on isomerization (change of the molecule's geometry) of molecule that form intramolecular hydrogen bond (geometrical lock) but it "opens" upon interaction with another molecule.

Why is it important?
This research may be important to anyone who is interested in construction of molecular probes - the electron distribution changes upon geometry change. That may result in photo physical response.
