What is it about?
Chlorinated solvents are commonly encountered groundwater contaminants that can be taken up by trees. Here we repeatedly sample several trees at a contaminated site over four years. The resulting chlorinated solvent concentrations show a seasonal trend, where concentrations are highest during the summer and lowest during the winter.

Why is it important?
This paper provides the highest resolution dataset of chlorinated solvents concentrations in trees. Such data will help researchers estimate contaminant removal rates.
