What is it about?
This article looks at recent social policy related to work and pensions has resulted in the extension of working lives of the UK population. Drawing from the risk society thesis, the article highlights the complex transition from State provision of a fixed term pension age to extension of working age - this has issues for the self-management of resources and pensions.
