The clinician rates the subjects capacity for paid work independent of the patient's current work status and the availability of jobs. The clinician rates patients on their treatment adherence, social competence, physical appearance and behavior. These ratings serve as a guided assessment touching the key elements of a patient's capacity for paid work. The WoRQ has suitable psychometric properties for use in clinical trials for patients with serious mental illness experiencing a broad range of symptom severity. Work Readiness is an associated with higher functioning and lower levels of negative symptoms and can differentiate anti-psychotics with different mechanisms of actions.
