What is it about?
We have been analysing the outer form and shape of the arm-hooks of belemnites. Those arm hooks replace the suckers in modern cephalopods and served the same purpose. We were studying whether the shape of the hooks is different at different places along the arms and between arms.

Why is it important?
Because the arm-hooks are used for various purposes, like capturing prey and mating, it would be interesting to know whether thir shape changes along the arms. This could indicate a complex functional adaptation, where different arms or different parts of one arm were used for different activities by the living belemnite.
