What is it about?

This article is about safety needs of people with disabilities in the earthquakes. These needs are related to before, during and after the earthquakes, and were identified through interviews with people with disabilities who experienced an earthquake. The experiences of these people about their safety needs are presented in the form of quotes in the article.

Why is it important?

In this article, the safety needs of people with mobility disabilities in earthquakes were identified from their own perspective. These needs are presented in three areas before, during and after the earthquakes. The use of quotes and the information have provided on the participants is excellent and a strength of the paper.

Perspectives

People with mobility disabilities is not prepared to face earthquakes because of their impairments and unknown needs. I hope considering their safety needs, that presented in this article, in phases of disaster management including mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery, can lead to more effective measures and maintain their life and health.
