What is it about?

Exact controllability results usually do not take into account state constraints that are highly relevant in engineering applications. In this paper we consider the exact control of gas flow to a desired state under constraints on the admissible pressure and flow velocity.

Why is it important?

In many applications it does not suffice that a control existst that steers the system to a desired state. It is also essential that in this process constraints on the system state are satisfied all the time.

Perspectives

While in this paper we consider a semilinear model for gas flow, we plan to extend this result to the more accurate quasilinear models.
