Why is it important?
Atypical Thinking Psychosis provides a historical continuity of behavior descriptions of 'schizophrenia," yet normalizes aspects of thinking and behavior considered "atypical" that may not be relevant for special psychiatric interventions, thus may limit 'excessive" use of medications targeted to reduce or eliminate "benign " atypical symptoms, and may provides impetus for increased focus on targeting risk management and associated distress, a hallmark of any psychosis.
