What is it about?

Fluorinated carbons were reduced and defluorinated by means of elecrochemical reduction, and then were tranformed into carbyne-like carbons. Graphitic crystals in the form of a ribbon sevral nanometer in wide were obtained after an electron radiation to the carbyne-like carbons.

Why is it important?

Carbyne-like carbon is able to transform into a graphitic crystal.

Perspectives

Fluorinated carbon is usable to obtain small graphitic crystals.
