oriC DNA can be opened by DnaA portein in the absence of ATP

Why is it important?
DnaA usually opens oriC with the aid of ATP.However some mutants of DnaA which have lost ATP binding site can still open it.Our work shows dispensablility of ATP for oriC opening in an in vitro experiment.
Perspectives
ATP-DnaA is not the unique pathway for oriC opening and other mechanisms may be shown.
