What is it about?

A black char less than 20 wt% in weight of the raw polyacetylene PA film was obtained after the carbonization accompanying thermal decomposition. Hollow spehrical or elliptical graphitic nano-particles were observed in the black char.

Why is it important?

Polyacetylene crystals have a tendency to transforme into a graphitic structure in carbonization at temperatures of above 800 ℃.

Perspectives

Graphitic structures are able to obtain with carbonization of polyacetylene.
