What is it about?

Yields of the black char decreased remarkably with increasing carbonization temperature. This result is attributed to thermal decomposition and gasification of the PA films at high temperatures. Obtained black char formed very small carbon particles in nano-size.

Why is it important?

The small black particles obtained by carbonization of PA thin films with pyrolytic reaction at temperatures in the range of of 800℃ to 1000℃ have poorly ordered graphitic structure.

Perspectives

It is difficult to obtaine a carbon film by means of a normal carbonization of PA films at high temperatures.
